Global warming

Global warming refers to the long-term increase in Earth's average surface temperature, primarily caused by the release of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, into the atmosphere by human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes. These greenhouse gases trap heat in the atmosphere, causing the Earth's temperature to rise, which leads to a range of adverse effects on the environment and human society, including rising sea levels, more frequent and severe weather events, loss of biodiversity, and health impacts.

Scientists agree that global warming is happening and that it is caused by human activities. To address this issue, it is important to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and transition to cleaner energy sources, such as renewable energy. This can be achieved through policies such as carbon pricing, renewable energy incentives, and regulations that limit emissions from industrial sources. It is also important for individuals to make lifestyle changes that reduce their carbon footprint, such as reducing energy consumption, driving less, and eating a plant-based diet.
